Andrew C. McCarthy is the author of two New York Times bestsellers, Willful Blindness (2008) and, most recently, The Grand Jihad (2009). He is a senior fellow at the National Review Institute, and a contributing editor at National Review. For 18 years he was an assistant United States attor- ney in the Southern District of New York, and in 1995 he led the terrorism prosecution against the “Blind Sheikh” (Omar Abdel Rahman) and the jihadist cell that carried out the World Trade Center bombing and plotted to attack New York City landmarks. After the 9/11 attacks, he supervised the U.S. attorney’s command post near Ground Zero.
